This set was made for a client living in Oregon. We spent time understanding
what I could and could not do, and what exactly the client wanted. I then spent time creating it.
As part of the creative process, I often stopped and picked up the camera. Below is a visual tour through
this creative process.

Above: this handle has a number of inserts. From the bottom:
Myrtle Wood, brass, stabilized black dyed Red Wood, white/black
1/8th" spacers and lastly the brass bolster. Brass bolster is 3/4" wide.
I can make this sort of handle for your knife, just ask. I also use other hardwoods
such as ebony, and reconstituted stones. Send me an e-mail for an enquiry, if interested.

Completed set. All have Myrtle Wood Handles. On the left is an 8 piece steak knife set with
4" blades. There is also a serrated bread knife with a 9.5" blade, a 10" kitchen knife 2.5" wide, a 3" by 8.5" Thai Cleaver, a 7" Santoku, a 5" Boning Knife, a 1" x 5" kitchen knife, a straight handled traditional Paring knife, a bent handled traditional Paring knife, and lastly a bent handled Birds Beak Paring knife. Each has 5 coats of orange oil as a finish. Carbon steel, with brass bolsters.

Set cut and drilled and ready to be made.

Here the work for that day has been hardened in Macadamia Nut oil. It will then be
cleaned up and then have the temper drawn .

Here the pieces have that straw yellow color after they have been heated in an oven
until they show the color I wanted.
