However, we do cover all custom orders for the period we call 'lifetime ownership coverage for workmanship'.

Basically, my guarantee covers what you buy from the day you receive it, for two weeks. If you need more time than this, just write me and explain. We feel your either satisfied or not within that time, but circumstances sometimes affect this time limit and we are always amenable to working with you.
If, in that time, your not satisfied simply due to taste, contact me by phone or e-mail and I will take the work back, refinish it for resale, refund of your purchase price for the knife minus any charges. If the returned guaranteed item for refund is used and needs refinishing, then I can fix the unit up to original condition, and refund your money minus cost to refinish.
My cost to you to refinish depends on it's condition and will be quoted when I receive it back.
In no way will the charge be more than 15% of the refund, unless the work is so thrashed that it cannot be saved. Then the cost to the refund can go as high as 40%. Usually if the surface is lightly tarnished I will simply offer a full refund.
My main absolute focus here is to satisfy you as best as I can no matter what, even though you want to undo the sale, so I always try to keep this refinish cost down or free.
We do not refund postage paid for the knife to be sent to you which for me would make no sense.
It is the buyers responsibility to cover the postage of the package sent back to me and it is the buyers responsibility as well, to insure the package against loss, as we have not and will not cover any loss by you with your shipper.
*** Any boxes shipped to me that have not been properly packed or sealed may be rejected on our end, and shipped back to you as a reject, unopened. For example; someone once sent a knife to me without a cork on the tip, without some sort of packing material to keep the knife from moving around, in a cardboard box. It arrived with the tip bent over, and sticking out of the box. We told the livid postal lady to send it back.
If it is a satisfaction return, there are no questions asked. We take it back and refinish it, so we can re-sell it and offer you our refund ASAP.
This guarantee covers any item on our price list that has a listed price, which we call stock items. Any items we customize for you and offer a special cost is not covered under this part of the guarantee, but is covered by the part below.

if there is a problem after the satisfaction guaranteed period: then please contact me and we can come up with a plan. It may be possible to repair the piece in your home and I can help with that. But you have to be willing and slightly handy. If not, then...
Once I receive the piece(s) here, there are a few scenarios which may come into play.
All work is conditionally guaranteed from flaws in workmanship for the life of the piece.
As long as the knife(s) construction is faulty, I will pay for shipping it back to me and replace or do a free fix or replace right away. Once I get the item, it will be obvious in one minute what the problem is and the best way to fix it. If there is a wait list, you go right to the top. Note: no one has ever sent a piece that had poor workmanship, simply because there are no moving parts and the knife is constructed of the very best materials available anywhere. But 'ya never know', there is always a first time and I learn something new every day!
When I receive it, if it is clear that the piece has been abused (My dog chewed up the handle, somehow it went into the dishwasher or the disposal and the wood pulled away from the handle, etc.) then the guarantee to fix poor workmanship will not be in force. Neither will the guarantee be in effect if you bought the item second hand.
However, I will be happy to offer a reasonable estimate for repair to my clients. In all cases, be aware, that we are a small family owned company and have been since the early 80's. This means there is no bureaucracy here to interfere with communication, which will always be straight, clear and honest from our end. Contact us and we will do our sincere earnest best to work it out.
